Please call or email me and we can set up a consultation appointment.
If you already know what kind of wall treatment you want (or have some ideas) please let me know ahead of time so that I can bring samples and pictures of the style you have in mind for your consideration. If you don't know exactly what you want and are looking for some suggestions, that's great. We can use the consultation to brainstorm, look at design samples and decide upon the right colors and styles that will make your living space beautiful and unique.
No, there is no fee for your initial consultation. Should several consultations be necessary, however, we will discuss a nominal fee which will be credited against your job, once you've signed a Statement of Work.
Yes. After the initial consultation I will produce a custom sample board (or several if we are reviewing a variety of styles, colors, textures, etc.). If none of the samples meet with your approval, I will produce additional samples, modifying the style and/or colors, until we arrive at the finish you desire. I will not begin the application until you are fully satisfied with the sample.
The sample is typically a 2 x 2 foot board and represents only a small section of the overall finish. Therefore, you will see slight variations once the design is executed on a large scale. The existing texture of your walls will affect the overall look of the finish, but I am committed to producing a finish as close to the project sample as possible. Please keep in mind that this is a hand-finished and unique artwork, not a photographic reproduction or manufactured finish. The bottom line: I want you to be entirely satisfied with the finished product.
A single, large-sized room can typically take three to five days. The number of layers required, the complexity of the finish, and the size of the space will determine the exact length of the job.
I work anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area and don't mind moderately long commutes from my home in Sonoma. I am also willing to travel virtually anywhere if I am the right person for the project. When traveling outside the Bay Area, travel expenses are included in your quote.
If possible, I ask that you remove small or breakable objects and store them in a safe location. Please have furniture placed in the center of the room and remove wall hangings. I can help you with this if necessary. I will cover the floors and furniture to avoid any damage.
Faux finishing is priced by the square foot and can range from 4 to 15 dollars per square foot, depending upon the complexity of the finish. This is an all-inclusive price which includes the cost of supplies, painting and texturing products, and travel anywhere in the Bay Area.
At our initial consultation, I will measure the project space and later submit a bid to you based on the walls we agree to finish. A down payment of 30% of the project estimate is required to book the job and the balance will be due upon completion.
